Moving Cory To New Tank

Does anyone have any tips to catch or trap a cory to move him to another tank? I am hoping to catch him without taking all the plants out of the tank.

Try putting your fish net at the bottom of the tank and add some baits (algae wafers or brine shrimps)

Wait until your cory goes to eat your bait and then scoop em' out. Done

Lowering the water level in the tank will help. Also, try using two nets. One to herd him towards the other net and then try and scoop him up. They are fast and with a lot of plants it will be a little tricky.

Good luck

baiting them would also work without doing hardwork. Lowering water is a hardwork.

Once they figure out you are trying to catch them they will take off and hide so while your suggestion very well may work, I thought I'd offer an alternative solution. It could always be done on a water change day so the OP would be lowering the water level anyways.

Hahaha tried to catch an aeneus that hitchhiked between the schultzei.
The latter stayed for the glass, the aeneus hid when the net entered the water woohahaha. They are soooooo smart !!!

Goodluck (replanting hahahha)

Recommend one net and your hand, instead of a second net. You can slide your hand through plants and around ornaments/driftwood much easier than a net, and wiggling fingers are good for 'pushing' them where you want them to go. You can set your net just off one corner, and herd the fish around and into it that way.
Also, if you haven't done it, check out youtube, there are some good videos of just this topic. I like this one especially:

For my cories I've always used one net that is huge (about 8 inches wide) and a second, smaller one that I use to herd the correct corydora into the large net. Then, it's pretty easy to just scoop the large net right out since corydoras tend to swim down when they're scared (which doesn't work when they're trying to swim out of a net).
