Moving baby mystery snails

They're growing up quickly and more have hatched! I feel like it would be better for them if I spread them out among a few tanks but I don't know how sensitive they are to changes in their environment. Is there a size at which it's best to move them? Is there a method for moving them safely?

Hi, if they're smaller than pinky nail size I put a moss ball in there and wait for some to crawl on and then move them and the ball. If they are bigger than pinky nail size I slide them/ pick them up like you would with an adult just acclimate them like you would adults and it should be fine.

Thanks Pringle! Do you recommend moving them though? Or are frequent water changes and plenty of food enough for good growth?

Could you post a pic of them in their container?

They're in a 20 long, is that what you meant by "container"?

Here are some recent pictures of some of the larger ones:

Yes that's what I meant by container lol. I think as long as the water quality is testing okay with your current cleaning routine they should be just fine in there. If there isn't any other tank mates I would have less than 45 adults in that tank. Factor in babies size and they should be just fine. Be careful that the plenty of food doesn't effect water quality but I'm sure you know all that. If the water tests show an issue start moving them. Or if you prefer to start moving the bigger ones. They're very cute

I know! I'm going to have a hard time saying goodbye but I've already found a place to take them when they're ready. I'm going to keep a couple at least and I'm really excited by some of their colours. I'm sure several are jades!

And yes, I have been keeping a close eye on the water quality

As they start to get bigger, I'd keep a close eye on their shell health. You may end up needing to increase water changes or move some to different tanks if you see any concerns, just because it's a lot of nutrients being used up as they grow

That's exactly why I wanted to decrease their density in the home tank! I do water changes but I like to give myself a lot of leeway when it comes to the stocking, especially for sensitive critters

they generally do well when being moved. I've had to do that a lot of times. so long as the PH isn't drastically different, it should be okay
