I have two sunsun 304b canister filters on my 125 gallon tank and wanted to redo my tank while I am moving. Realistically could I hook the two flitters up on my 40 gallon breeder and not have too much filtration? Also will the BB end up dying due to the load being less ?

you can hook both of them up to the 40b, but maybe run 1 for 12hr and alternate them. BB can survive weeks and months. we had a member that had a canister w/ water in it for almost a year w/o running, and when he setup the tank again, he was cycled within 2 weeks.

the bioload is not how much water, its how many fish. if the same number of fish from the 125g goes into the 40b, then the bioload is the same, its just the concentration of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate gets increased due to being less water to dilute them.
