I noticed a white fungus growth on 2 of my neon tetras and bought API fungus cure at the Pet store. I was wondering how long it should take for the white fungus to disappear? I have kept fish for years but have never had to deal with a fungus infection.

The disease is cotton mouth, and the API fungus cure cures this in about 48 hours from the time you treated them. This disease is contagious so treat all of your fish with the treatment.

If I remember right it take more than 48 hours to do.

    Day one treat
    Day two wait.
Day three water change and treat.
    Day four, wait
Day five water change and treat.
    Day six wait.
Day seven water change, if fungus is gone treatment is done. If not it's rinse and repeat until done.
