Hi,
After 10 days I still have
0 ammonia
0 Nitrite
0 Nitrate.
Is it possible the tank has cycled. Hear me out.
My 25 L is definitely cycled. It was started with bottled bacteria and cycled after a week. I did get a tiny bit of Ammonia and nitrite for a couple days after adding 3 rummy nose tetra and a betta but it's been zero for 4 days and Nitrate increases so that I do a partial water change every few days to keep it around 5-10.
Anyway I did use a whole bottle of the same bacteria in the 130 L tanks canister filter and took a second sponge I had been running in the 25 L while it was cycling to add in. At the time I moved the second sponge it wasn't fully cycled I was getting readings of Ammonia 0.25 Nitrite 0.25 and Nitrate 5-10
I swapped one of the two sponges into the big tanks filter with the two goldfish when I moved them.
Now in my big tank I have 4 live plants, including a porthos plant which is taking off and roots are growing daily. Is it possible I'm not getting nitrate because they are using it all?? I am feeding my fish twice daily (small amount) I haven't changed any water or gravel vac in 4 days I and I can visibly see waste in the tank. How can I have 0 ammonia and 0 Nitrite?
