This is Captain Cook Hes called that cos hes blind in one eye, his eye didn't develop or something but It gives him character cos he swims sideways to see you! Hes got Cichlid pellets lodged in his mouth cos no more will fit into his tummy!

Thanks guys!  Hes such a piggy, when i go to touch him all he wants so see is if Ive got food in my hand for him.  hes actually nipped me in the hope that id taste good...

About 10 or 12 years ago I had a large oscar. He went blind in one eye too and would swim sideways all the time.

I had him in a 60 gallon tank in my university dorm and everyone else would get feeder fish for him. After a while he too lost interest in the fish and stuck to a diet of pellets.

Ah...the memories...

Ive never fed them feeder fish, I cant bring my heart to do so. but they enjoy ox heart, and bloodworms, lots! sometimes i feed them hot dogs without the rolls, but only little bits they really love it!
