Molly With White Patches On Body

I have a Dalmatian Molly that has recently developed white patches on his body. At first I thought it was Ich so I bought the treatment and while I was waiting for it to come I was adding aquarium salt to the tank and changing 25% of the water daily. The spots looking like they were getting better so I started the Ich treatment and on day 2 of the treatment the spots got worse and he is shaking and swimming more sporadically. Anyone have any idea what this might be? I don’t want to lose my fish!

This is what I got. He is so wiggly so it’s hard to get a clear photo.

Salt does not kill anything.
It does really help fish that can take it by
1. Irrating the skin to make the body produce more slime coat (natural disease barrier)
2. Cleaning the gills by friction (the same reason we gargle)
3. Helping the fish with osmosis and electrolytes

The reason they tell you to gargle with salt is to clear the fine particles out of your nose or throat, not that it kills anything.

Is your tank cycled?
That dosent even look like ick to me, more like a bacterial infection or a skin parasite called costia.

Salt does help livebearers, in fact its the best med to start with when dealing with livebearers. But it does not kill anything.
Is the tank cycled?
Do you test the water parameters?

The tank has been up for 8 months. I tested the water this morning and my pH and alkalinity are lower than normal. The nitrites are high. Ammonia is 0. I think when I treated for Ich it threw everything out of whack. What should I do now to rebalance the tank?
