Molly Fish Red Inflamation

This morning one of my balloon mollies sprouted a weird red growth. What is it??? What should I do???

(black balloon molly, never had issues with her before, had her for 2.5 months, today she's more slow moving, not swimming to the top to eat as usual)

The other 2 balloon mollies and pleco seem fine, I moved her to a fishbowl for now

She looks really sick. Like she has fin rot and some kind of parasite.

It looks like the tail is black and clear.

Look up photo of "fish prolaped bowels" and see if that looks like what you're seeing.

It might possibly be this... Although the pics I saw, some looked like literal intestines pouring out, while this looks like a bubble/sac of oil(?)

Is there any way to treat prolapsed bowels? I won't be home all day unfortunately.

Can this kill my fish? Also, is the reason behind this something personal in the fish's health or some parasite?

I'm adding pics.

(also, I'm pretty certain she doesn't have fon rot, her fins are smooth and don't have any tears/weird coloration. She just has plenty of white spots (from her natural coloration) that might make it look like it in my bad quality camera)

If I remember right, balloon mollies are actually the result of a (genetic?) deformity in regular mollies that people thought would be cute or profitable to breed for, like pugs or boxers, etc. Therefore the animals are prone to health issues (like short snouts = respiratory problems). I wouldn't be surprised if they are prone to internal problems. This is why I'm against breeders of these animals. (Well, I'm against dog and cat breeders to being with. Millions of animals are euthanized each year in the US because of overpopulation and stupid people breed animals still! Ahem. I digress.)

Are there worms or anything coming out of it? Does it look attached or protruding out of the body?

A few photos do look like that, but a couple looked more bubble like your Molly.

Okay, the first new photo it looks kind of like it's attached to the body. Strange. Might be worth trying a salt bath to add if that makes it fall off? I don't want to suggest anti-parasite meds without knowing what it is or could be.

Thanks for the help. What kind of salt should I add, how much and for how long?

I think its protruding from her rear end. It wasn't here yesterday. Yesterday I also had my weekly 40% water change. No ammonia or nitrites, ~15 ppm nitrates (before the water change), all other water parameters are normal as well.

Also, could this be contagious? I'm worried about keeping her in a bowl without an air pump, I want to add her back to the aquarium. Maybe put her in a fry net to make sure the other fish don't stress her out, or will this stress her more?

I don't think it's contagious, just something that went wrong. I know animals like cows are susceptible to uterus prolapse while giving birth and I've seen pigs and other animals (even humans can) have anal prolapse. For animals, vets shove the uterus in. For anal prolapse, I think I saw that portion get cut off. (I've seen a lot of vet shows.) I dunno about people. Or fish.

I also found this; the prolapse retreated back into the fish: FishProfiles.com - How quickly to prolapsed intes

Edit: just found a photo that kinda looks similar on this site: Tropical Fish Disease Identification with pictures and cures. It's under "roundworms."

Hey guys! While I was away the growth shrink within hours and now (9 hours after I noticed the growth) its almost completely gone.

All that's left is a small white bulb, 1mm in diameter.

However, she's still acting weird, swimming very slowly and not coming to the top when I open the feeding lid.

Does anyone know what might be the reason behind this strange thing? Could it be constipation? Should I not feed her for the next couple of days, maybe just give her spinach or zucchini?

You know I was thinking of prolapsed bowels but never saw it in fish before so Yeah. Poor thing.

I only know it happens in fish because I had a platy have something weird coming out of it for a half hour. She died very suddenly a few days later; an hour after feeding, I saw my betta poking at something floating. Still don't know what happened for sure, but it wasn't prolapse.

In one of the links, the prolapse does recede. Honestly, I believe it's because of this morbidly deformed body shape. As I mentioned before, balloon mollies are a genetic deformity people thought would be cool to breed and sell. Because of the squished and weird body shapes, I wouldn't be surprised if they're prone to gastrointestinal issues.
I do think constipation likely was the cause. If the fish was straining, I can see how that could happen. Giving her fiber foods can help. Epsom salt baths can be used as a laxative (muscle relaxant) too. For a Molly, I usually do 1/2 tablespoon in a gallon container, Dissolve it, then add the fish in for no more than 15 minutes.

I'd imagine she's uncomfortable. Pretty sure I would be. Maybe the above can help her? Time also.

Unfortunately I don't have epsom salt and I can't get some today...

As of now she seems to be doing a bit better, she's moving way more and darting up when I open the feeding lid. Still a bit slow though. Small white blob is still there.

Should I feed her today, tho? And should I give her spinach or zucchini?
