Molly Fish lying on gravel?! Hunched back?

Joker666

Hello, when the lights were off, and when i turned them on, my molly fish was lying at the bottom of the substrate. Is he sleeping, or this isn’t normal behavior? My water parameters are good, ph:7.6, nitrates are 5 or less, ammonia and nitrites none.

Hello, I had another question, i am saying this since I made two posts. Does this molly fish have a hunched back or slightest of drooping tail? He has no misshapen body right?

Looks fine to me, just a tiny bit of missing tail in the middle but nothing to worry about.
These guys are Lyre Tail Mollies.

My bettas like to lay on the bottom when sleeping. Been a long time since i had mollies so don't remember. A lot of my fish just kind of stay suspended when sleeping. The platies sometimes lay on the substrate too when sleeping. Guess just see how it acts when awake. That will probably tell you more.

Oh really? I thought they were gold panda mollies, the missing in tail wont lead to fin/tail rot right?!

Also my temperature was 86 F for two days, and he has a nipped tail, is he at major risk for fin/tail rot

I wouldn't know what would be wrong with this molly if I look at those pictures.

Yes, they're called gold panda mollies or even gold dust mollies. But yours is the lyretail version. Such tailshapes has got nothing to do with fin rot. If fin rot happens, it will have a quite different cause.

He has a tail nip, just to let you know.

Oh, I must have overlooked that part...
Well, damaged fins are always sensitive to fin rot... (so, doesn't have to but it can...)
