I don't know if this is in the right area of the forum but here goes for a week now I have had all of my mollies bumping into the bridge ornament in the middle of my tank and I heard that it could be white spot but I cannot see any white spot on any of the fish but treated them anyway .....but they are still doing it I'm confused

Welcome to the forum.

What are your readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

How exactly did you "treat" them?

Your aquarium info indicates you do not know about the nitrogen cycle. This is really important if you're going to keep fish. Otherwise, they could die from toxic water.

You need to buy either water test stripes or a liquid test kit.I recommend the API master liquid test kit.

ammonia and nitrites are zero and all the other tests are in the safe marker and I am treating them with king british - original formula ws3 aquarium fish medicine white spot terminator full strength

I thought that too but they do it very often and also they all do it not just one or two

also yes I do know about tank cycling the pet store I received the fish from told me how to do it but she called it a starter cycle

Then I think you should take it out and either move it to another tank or sell it online.

If you don't want to do that try Tetra Safe Start. It might work

thank you for your input I will remove it from the tank and see what happens

I have also used safe water in the tank if that makes any difference

and there also is no salt in the water because I was advised not to add salt because the mollies had been grown in just water with no salt

Like I said your best bet is to take it out and maybe put it into another tank.

Can you maybe get a picture of the bridge and the mollies.

The "safe" marker really tells us nothing. We need to know the actual number. What test kit?

Stop using meds, you don't even know what these fish may or may not be suffering from. Meds for the sake of meds is never any good.

You need to buy either water test stripes or a liquid test kit.I recommend the API master liquid test kit.

Please do not recommend that people buy test strips. They are useless.

I wasn't recommending the test strips I was recommending the API test kit. Iwas just saying to use the test strips before he can get the API test kit.

You can look on-line for the "API master kit" or you can see if your lfs carrys it. In the States, it costs less than $20 on-line and lasts for hundreds of tests. Reliable tests.

I have order an apI test thank you

also is it possible for a male mollie to have certain preferences on females because mine only seems to like one of the females in the tank and he won't leave her alone even though there are plenty of other females in the tank

Yes, it is absolutely possible. What is your ratio of male to female.

Dashing up against objects can be a sign of white spot before the spots appear. Check your temperature and do a good water change...50%. The decoration itself shouldn't be a problem. Good luck.

Welcome to the forum.

I had the same thought that Fish Monger did. From your description, it sounds like your fish are flashing. They are actually rubbing their gills on the hard surface and not actually randomly running into it. It is done purposely.

My recommendation is to do daily water changes, no less than 30% and to make sure to use a gravel cleaner to pick up any debris in your substrate. Flashing can be a sign that your tank is going acidic. The increased water changes and cleaning of the substrate will correct this situation.

If after a week of daily water changes the flashing doesn't stop, then I'd recommend a parasitic treatment for gill flukes. Not sure what products are available in your country, but I like to use QuickCure for this type of disease.

Good luck!

I just had a thought, this thread was originally posted in the Brackish Fish forum.... (I have moved it to Mollies)

Have you added salt to this setup? If so, what is the salinity, and what sort of salt?
