Mold on Filter Sponges

speaking of mold what can remove mold from sponges?(like hot water or something)

Hello,

Here is your new thread.

Personally I would trash the sponge and replace with a new one. If this is your only source to house beneficial bacteria, add a new sponge into the tank for 1 month prior to removing the old moldy sponge.

I have never seen mold on any of my sponges. Too, I do not reuse old dried out sponges.

They are cheap enough that I would just get a new one.

are you sure its mold my media gets pretty dirty and looks like mold but never grows mold maybe a pic would help

I can't get pic as this is a question for the future(if a filter with its media is left dry for a while)

I did change it. People seemed to think the black lab was a cat, and I can't have people thinking my avatar is cat......
