Miyavi has fin rot!

So about 2 weeks ago after the 5 gallon was cycled, I finally start putting in my miyavI in it. Now his fins are spiky a little bit and now has fin rot on his tail. I just did a water change today and another one yesterday. Can someone help me? He still looks the same like he was several months ago(pale and lethargic) when it occurred. Now he looks worse than ever. It is very heartbreaking seeing him like this and I don't want to end up putting him to sleep because he looks so ill.

Are you doing all the usual: stress coat, garlic, lots of fresh water, Indian almond leaf, vitachem? I wish I had a simple solution for you. something to boost his health might be your best bet though. Get him strong and his immune system up. Soak his food in garlic, lots of stress coat to help his conditioning, Indian almond leaf to keep him relaxed. Sorry I'm no help, hon.

finrot is a very long, long, long illness, and treating it isn't going to be a quick thing. it sucks, but it can take weeks for your fish to heal up and get back up to par.
it looks as if you're referring to previous posts here; if you're still dealing with the same problem you can post on the same thread and just put update in the title, and then it'll get bumped up as a new post, but everybody will still have access to all your older info about your fish.

lots of places sell it online; I haven't found any chain stores that carry it.

it looks like you've got a few threads going about the same problem with the same fish; maybe merging them would help people feed off one another's ideas for your fish, and keep things a bit more organized.
