Mixing corys

KingDrew1414

I just got a batch of what should have been 8 Pygmy salt and pepper corys (C. Habrosus). After getting them home and beginning to acclimate I looked at them and realized one was actually a regular Pygmy Cory ( C. Pygmaus) Will they still school and be alright together?? I don’t want the solo Pygmy to get lonely and sad. ☹️

I haven't had them together but have heard that they'll stick together. How big is your tank? It may just be a better idea to play it safe and get some pygmies to go with it. You could also give the pygmy to your LFS if you're concerned about it being lonely.

It’s a 10 gallon. I read somewhere that they can very happily live together, I just was curious if anyone had any experience with them schooling.

Hi & welcome to Fishlore.
Pygmies & habrosus inhabit different areas of the tank, pygmies spend most of their time in the middle whereas the habrosus stay on the bottom for the most part.
I’d suggest either rehoming the single pygmy or getting some more to form a reasonable size shoal
