How well do mixed barbs work with each other. I've seen that barbs like 6 or more to be happy, is this 6 or more of the same kind or can it be 6 or more of different kinds?

Sorry for the late reply, but any fish that is roughly the same shape and size as the others, will all school together, they are like tetras.

I had a tiger barb and a rosy barb that were best friends, it was so cute to watch them together.

Yes, mixed barbs do well. I have a tiger barb and an albino barb, and they were inseperable!

My brother in law has a mixed school of barbs in one of his 55's... he has mossy barbs, tiger barbs, albino tiger barbs all together... and as a neat bonus his serpae tetras and congo tetras join in as well. The only problems arise at feeding time when the rainbow shark bulldozes through them to get at the grub.
