Missing Fish Ammonia levels rising

Hey guys, about 2 days ago one of my Platys went missing. I took out the decorations plants and still couldn't find him. Yesterday I used the API Freshwater Master kit and saw that I had 0.5ppm ammonia in my tank. Did my fish die and is this causing the ammonia to rise. My tank is cycled and has been running for 4 1/2 months.

 

Did you look in the filter?

 

Yes I looked in both filters and found nothing.

 

Sift through the substrate. I've read some people have found dead fish in it.

 

Do you have anything that could have scavenged or eaten him?

 

I have a Dwarf Gourami, 7 zebra danios, 3 Platys, 4 JullI Cory.

 

The cories might have eaten the body.

 

What can I do to get my ammonia back down to 0

 

Yea it likely the 4 of them got to it be4 you did but you should still check your substrate like el337 sudjested

Large water change and gravel vac, dosed with Prime.
