Mini Angel Fish?

Read this about African clawed frogs vs African dwarf frogs.

I've been reading up as I'm considering a tank for ADCF's. I have 3 ADF's in a betta tank and they are my favorite.

If I were near your location I would so adopt yours

Can you post a picture of the frog?
The ratio is only for if you're keeping mixed genders. The best option is all males. I wouldn't personally add a gourami with all the angels and shark, the tank isn't big enough to support them fully grown so best to keep the bioload as low as possible.

Hmmmm....I guess he’s xenopus laevis after all, his forelimbs don’t have webbed hands. However, I’ve had him the longest and he stopped growing at about 2 inches with his legs fully extended...same as the larger guppies if you count their tails. I guess I will keep an eye on its size, and move it if I have to.

Good luck . How is he as a pet? I do hope to get a pair in the future.

To be honest, he's a bit boring. He hides from the light, and only comes out to go to the surface and get some air and then goes to hide again. I think that's because he's an albino, the light probably isn't that pleasant for him. I see him swimming around the surface sometimes when the light's off, but frog watching in the dark is no fun. When he eats it's a quick and hard to spot affair, as he mostly scavenges the fishes' leavings off the bottom of the tank.

On a different note, I did big water changes on my tanks today because I'm about to go on a trip, and one of my guppies died! I did the same water change I always do, just in a greater amount, and as soon as I finished one of the females went belly up. Does anyone know what might have happened there? I did notice a red dot on one of her gill flaps the other day, but thought it might just be some new color coming in. Might it have been a disease symptom?

I've had the same problem and am no expert but people have told me water changes with rinsing/changing filter media can throw the cycle off and shoot ammonia levels up and kill fish.

Also be sure to add water conditioners and meds to water, in buckets, to dissolve and mix before addicting to tank.

Rinsing well-established media shouldn't cause any issues with the ammonia levels though younger populations of bacteria may be affected.

Changing the media will definitely upset your cycle though!

Water changes are fine at any size as long as the temperature and pH are close to the tank's.
