Might have lost a dog last night

We have 4 dogs and one of them is very (15) old. We have a huge yard and woods and a low traffic backroad at my house so we let them run where they want for the most part. She got on some new medicine and it seemed to make her sick, earlier in the day she had gone outside and layer on The ground in the rain. Last night around 9:30 EST last night I let her out while doing HW, It was raining and we never begged at the door. Now we cannot find her, She appears to be slightly blind and almost deaf. He gets these gross moles and I forget what causes those. She has a titanium hip and she has had quite a bit of trouble with it. Me and my parents are devastated but we will wait and see.

PS: Yes I know it is very early my time but I woke up sick.

Sorry to hear about your dog. Hope she turns up. It's very hard not knowing what happened.

Thank you guys. I am more worried about my parents. They have had this dog longer than me. My mom was sobbing last night and I just have this slow burning anger/sadness, my dad seems to be fine. I think he is out looking right now.

We just got the call from the vet saying she won’t make it through the morning. We might not make it there before…

EDIT-As I was typing the original message we got the call saying she was gone.

Yes my mom is devastated. I am just trying not to think about it to much and focus on other stuff. I stayed home from school and I am really glad I did because it would be a lot harder to not think about it there. Or is it wrong to not think about it?

People grieve in many different ways. Sometimes it helps to stay busy. Keep your parents or another close person in your life in the loop on how your are feeling. So sorry for your loss.

So sorry, I know what its like to lose a dog, they are a part of the family. But remember she was 15 that is a good age for most dog breeds. She had a good life with your family, try to remember the good times.

Sorry she didn’t make it. For many of us, losing a pet is like losing a family member.

I'm sorry the dog didn't make it.

There's no right or wrong answer about whether or not you should think about it. There's nothing wrong with spending quite a bit of time thinking about the dog for a few days, but that time should become less each day (and I'm sure it will).
