Hey hey,

Well I have been giving this a lot of thought after reading all your comments on "my little pleco might need help" thread. You see the problem I have is I cannot keep two tank in my little home; and I definitly don't want to get rid of the one I have since it is the one I have had since childhood (family sentiments,,, just lost my mom recently :'( )

However, the thought occured to me today that I could bring my present tank at school (I am a teacher). I am sure the kids would get a real kick out of it; not to mention the many projects we could do with it This move would give me the space I need to maybe get a bigger tank where mine is presently. Of course, I still have to run this idea by the boss, AKA my husband

I'll keep you all posted

Well,,,,

It was a cool idea, but just not possible at the moment. Like I said earlier, this is an inherited tank; I had NO IDEA how much a tank costs. After intensive research I did find that Oscar, being a Hypostomus Punctatus, is a smaller specie of pleco that will not grow much larger than a foot. Thus, I could go for a 45 or 50 gallon tank. I live in an appartment, so I need a corner tank. Went to check at pet store today and OMG! I saw a lovely 49 gallon corner tank that was 600$!

My husband (futur hubby that is, we are engaged) just went back to work after a nasty fight with Hodgkins that cost us a little. And we are saving up for the wedding (and saving for a downpayement on a house in a year or two) so this, at the moment, is just out of the question. Oscar will have to go back :'(
,,, hoping of course the person who gets him afterwards will treat him right

There is a happy ending though: my man came home to find me sitting at the tank, all upset. After I told him everything and he promised me that when we buy our house, we would look into getting a larger tank (a corner one will no longer be necessary), and then I could buy myself another little budy ;D

I am so sorry about the way it turned out with Oscar, but you have a very good attitude about it. Oscar will probably find a good home and when you get the nice big tank in your new home, you can make sure that you will have room for an Oscar, Jr. And you like all of us who have fish that we no longer own, will always have the memories of the time you spent with him.

Keep your chin up and good luck to you.
