Metal Poisoning

Is there a method of putting metal into your aquarium? I heard it's not ok to do that, but what about metal wrapped in plastic foil? Are there any other methods? Thanks!

Why do you need metal in your tank?

I don’t see why you’d need metal in your tank?

If it’s not safe why risk it? Personally I’d not want to even try it.

I would say even wrapped in plastic foil it's a bad idea. There might be gaps (however small) that water can leak into and then it will get onto the whole tank. There may also be something in the plastic that is bad for the tank.

I want to do a suspended multI level aquarium. The only thing I got to support my smaller aquarium is a metal piece. It fits perfect, but I don't want to kill my fishies. Thanks for your answers!

The only way I would chance it is if the metal piece could be totally enclosed/sealed in an acrylic resin and even then you will have to be sure the acrylic you are using is food safe. If food safe it should be fish safe too.

I doubt it’s titanium but it would be safe
