Mercy's first bubble nest!

Well, Mercy must be happy in his new home. I went to feed him this morning, and he had been busy making a bubble nest! He looked at me like "What?" He was very proud of himself!

Here are some attached pics. The second one is the outside of the tank and you can see the bubble nest. The first one is through the feeding hole. I caught him checking on his nest. You can see it at the top of the pic and he is turning to see what I am doing.

Cool!

Neither of my guys have made a bubble nest.... Wahhhhhh. And I hate hearing how it just means they're happy cuz then I'm like... well, I guess my guys aren't happy. LOL.

disturbedme: If you have a filter in a small tank, they could be building the nest but the filter messes it up before it's done. That's what happens with Mango. If I move the filter to the other side of the divider, he builds one, but when I move it back, I never see one.

My little guy won't even attempt to build one. I've slowed the flow of the filter as much as possible, but still nothing. Do they need a female around or do they make them regardless?

they make them regardless

Maybe I'm just not doing something right. The tanks been the same since I got him. Would moving things around help maybe?

How do you know he's no trying? Mango always makes his at night, and so did Murphy.

I work night shifts so I'm awake all night. I've never seen him even attempt to. Maybe he's just not happy.
