Meet Sunrise! My betta success story

Duckerson

I got a Petsmart betta fish about 2 months ago. I didnt know that they lose their color when unhappy, so I had no idea how beautiful my betta truly was when I bought him.
In the cup, his fins were clamped but when I looked at him he got all of this energy and flared them. It was a sudden burst of yellow and I immediately thought of his name: Sunrise (which I think is perfect, I love saying good morning to him)
2 months later he lives in a 10 gallon community tank with a mystery snail, a netrite snail, and an african dwarf frog. He's super attentive and always gets excited when I walk in the room. I even have him trained a bit!
His colors are FANTASTIC. He has completely transformed, and his fins have grown a lot. I'm just so happy to see that he's healthy, and I feel like I rescued him from life in a little cup.
The first picture was him in his original 1 gallon, the 1st day I got him (I found a free 10 gallon the day after I got him and he went in a week later). You can see how pale he is, and look at how faint the black is on his fins.
The second two were taken recently, look at my blue mustard gas beauty. Check out how much he has grown black on his fins and his obvious color change. I promise, he's the same fish.
Last picture is a comparison I made a couple of weeks ago.
Just wanted to share my success story. I'll be posting more about his community tank and health.

He is gorgeous! Very much like my best boy Freddie who was also a dismal shade of grey when I brought him home. I bet Sunrise will still colour up some more for you- here's my Freddie taken about a minute ago. He's so dark that sometimes it's hard to see that he has eyes!

I've had him six months now, he's my baby!
