Meet Jim, New Betta

Finally got to pick out a betta for my 10 gallon tank I've been cycling for almost a month and a half.

Picked up this guy, was labeled a "copper betta". Love the coloring and how the "veins" are a different color in his fins.

Couldnt get a good shot of him really flaring, just got these as he was swimming and exploring his new home.

His name is Jim, after JI'm Halpert from The Office. My wife, my 1-1/2 year old daughter, and I all love the show, and thought it would be fun to name him Jim.

Tank is a 10 gallon, with some Moneywort, Anubias, and dwarf Anubias. The HOB is a Quietflow 10, with an intake sponge, and the compartment in the back has another sponge, and 2 bags of Fluval Biomax media. Lights are a pair of Aqueon clip-on LED lights.

Thanks to everyone here who helped me with my tank and my questions.

Thanks for all the compliments. The Petco near me actually had a lot of really nice fish, but this guy really stood out. I attached some pics of the runner ups. I wish I had a half dozen tanks ready, I could have filled them all.

The blue one was labeled a butterfly if I recall correctly, and the white one was really cool with the grey on the edges of his fins. There was also a really sharp looking one labeled as a black orchid, but I didnt get a pic of that one.

I think JI'm is already getting comfy. The red in his fins is not turning a brighter cherry red, whereas before they were more of a pinkish watermelon red.

I think I may need to do something with the filter, has a pretty strong current at the top. May need to add a baffle or something.
