Marty the Betta

Sorry to hear Marty passed away. But that's nice you got one last day with him.

 

Yea, Marty was a super special little guy! I think he knew how much he was loved and wanted to return that to his Betta mommy.

 

Marty's story about an animal bonding with a human (and likewise) is one of the most incredible, stunning and touching ones I've ever seen. I just now logged in after a couple days away and was rather shocked by the loss after his miraculous recovery. After just a couple of seconds, the tears of sorrow strangely turned to joy at the extraordinary gift Marty gave you and all of us on his last day of life. I think a little tiny fish has given all who know about him a huge and positive lesson about life and death. No matter one's religious beliefs, a story like this could make some people, including me, wonder whether it was mere luck, fate or God's will that Marty and you found each other. Whatever it was, I personally think Marty carried out a very big mission. You served as a conduit of it by taking such wonderful care of him so you could convey his full story.

I too HATE seeing the little fishies suffer and I often make rick take them out when they're suffering too much.

but what a gift he gave you, to have one last good day with Mom, telling you he loved you.
