HI everyone. This is an offshoot from another thread but... Wondering where everybody stands on Marmite (or Vegemite). Am guessing the question is more relevant to Brits and Aussies, because it seems there's no such thing in the US. If you want to know what it is, check: .

LOL I don't know what marmite is, but remember a 70's song about someone eating a 'vegimite sandwhich'. Which I never knew what that was... it was a great song tho! lol.. ;D

it sounds like a lot of people think it's bitter - more bitter than 100% cacao? i'd hope not - that is the definition of bitter.

Song was something like 'I come from a land down under, blah blah etc! VERY annoying song I thought....

MARMITE is FAB, had it on toast this morn!!

Great when you come in drunk ( not that I have ever done that! :-[) with a cup of tea. I 'd been out one night when I lived in Stuttgart and my German friend said she would make the toast, she had never seen in before and thought it was a chocolate spread so spread it very thick, took one bite and turned green! She was rather ill! haha, amused me anyway!! ;D

I HATE marmite but Luuuuuuurve fish n chips with mushy peas or fish n chips and curry sauce!! they can't be compared!!!

poll results are interesting, 2, 2, 3. I thought marmite was a love hate thing, so surprised anyone chose the last option!

maybe you should add a "what's that?" option? - if you wanted one. it sounds almost like a solid form of V8 to me.
