Mario Tank

Photos of this tank has been all over my Facebook, reposted by quite a few people who aren't even remotely into tanks. I found this blog along with the video. While the tank design itself is very cool, I don't agree with her stocking. I saw a Dwarf Gourami and three Bala Sharks in with a Goldfish in this 55 gallon tank...
I love a person with passion. In this case it is hard to tell whether the passion is Super Mario Bros or Legos, but I suppose it really doesn't matter. This 55-gallon aquarium is host to an underwater Mario scene made out of Legos, effectively combining both passions.

Come to think of it, this guy might have a passion for fish. That's cool, too.

The scene comes complete with an amazing castle for the fish to swim through, levels to explore, clouds and even a Bowser for this underwater Mario to keep an eye on as he dreams of Princess Peach.

The only thing missing from this tank is that hermit crab with a Lego shell. He'd be a perfect resident in this wacky world.

Enjoy the groovy scene of this underwater world in our gallery and you can view a video of the tank bubbling away here.

Kudos go to Redditor Jennyleighb for sharing her roommate's creation with the world and likely inspiring some pretty cool Lego fish tank scenes.

My vote is for a Battlestar Galactica scene

How bizarre...... I don't see why the poor fish should have to suffer in such a headache-inducing environment. To each his own, I guess.

Didn't you know? Fish are furniture.

Yeah, it's definitely a case of the tank itself being the focus of attention. Any fish in here are simply an afterthought.

I think it is a cute tank, and with the right stocking it would be amazing. I don't necessarily think having something that is not a natural look tank is particularly bad.

It's definitely personal preference. I'm just saying that what I've found with these garish cartoony tanks is that it's not about the fish and that makes me feel bad.

Well, there are some amazing Lego tanks out there. At least the fish have SOME hiding places, Not very much, but some, such as that undergravel tunnel and the castle.

If I ever built a Lego themed tank, I'd sand the corners so that there wouldn't be sharp corners for the fish to hurt themselves on. The stocking is what bothers me the most. That goldfish needs a colder tank and it'll grow too large for that tank, as will the Bala Sharks.

I like it. I'd have put smaller fish in myself.

Ps.
I had a Mario tank once.

I think it's creative. Gave me the thought of maybe I should make my tank into a video game theme....then maybe my husband would like my hobby a lot more.

A Fallout themed tank would be nice. Without the radioactivity.

I would totally do that! Only it would be a terrarium, not an aquarium. And I would put a scorpion in it.

1 UP!! *ding*

Very very cool idea, i've thought about using Lego before but no opportunity. Also, you really would need the right fish for that environment, and i'd still use live plants for cover to help them.

Maybe a shrimp tank

Imagine having a super sized version of that tank, with a turtle. It would probably be completely unsuitable but it would be so ironic it would be hilarious.
