Hello, I curentally have a 20 gallon tank, with a 20 gallon marine land boiwheel filter. I am planning to keep more fish, and I am currently over stocked. I will like to add a filter to keep ammonia and nitrite down when I add more fish. Whatcha filter is better maineland biowheel penguin 100. Or aqua clear 20? Thanks!

Normally I would suggest an Aquaclear 30. You indicated that you are overstocked, so I'm going to suggest an Aquaclear 50. Hope this helps.

If your already overstocked why would you want to add more fish? I second the ac 50.

If you're already overstocked and add even more, stronger filters aren't really going to solve your problem. There's only so much water. Anyhow, AC are always my go to.

My tank currentally has no ammonia or nitrite, I am just planning on adding an angelfish and four or the barbs. I found the marineland penguin filter 350, which recommended for 50- 70 gallon tanks. For the price of the aquaclear 30. I am mainly concerned about bio filtration, so is it worth it?

a full grown angelfishs tip of its top fin would stik out of the water in a 20 gallon tank.

It’s a 20 gallon tall. Angelfish grow 8 inches tall, my tank is 16 inches tall
