I purchased a used fish tank that came with a bio-wheel HOB. I am unable to put the fish tank together at the moment how can I keep the bio system alive so that I am not completely starting over when I start the cycling?

Do you have any other tanks?

I have a 20 gallon already set up and running. It's only going to be a couple of days maybe 4 at the most, my husband has to make a stand for the 55 gallon.

See if you can fit it in that tank? Or put it on the side of a tote and have it running, with water in it of course, and put some fish food in the tote.

Won't that mess with the bio system in that tank?

No, it will just just it extra filtration and help build more of a bb colony in the filter. You'd keep the other filter running in the 20 gal and just add the new one to it.
