Managing A Guppy Population?

Hi. I recently bought a female guppy after generally only having males, as I wanted babies. She has since given birth twice and is pregnant a 3rd time in as many months, and my 9 gallon tank has quickly become overstocked. I assumed most of the fry would have been eaten by her or the other guppies and tetras in the tank -- but I'm up to at least 20 new babies at this point.

Do you have ideas or advice on how to manage the population in the tank? I'm worried it's already overstocked with no sign of the births slowing down, so appreciate any advice people have.

Thanks!

Cull them by giving them away to ur lfs or people who wants them.

Well, unfortunately your tank is a little small to add much anything else to it, but a female betta would help the population a little. Aside from that, yeah try to sell them or give them away. My lfs won't buy most guppies but will accept them for free.

Give the female guppy back to the store or separate her from the males.

My LFS took some of my guppy adolescents and traded them for a plant for my new 5 g build. I’m making a little home for mom so she can get some peace and quiet from the males for a bit. I’m excited to have a second smaller tank to use for some quarantine as needed and to know now that my store will take my extra babies. Thanks for the advice everyone!
