    I have a very aggressive convict that was sold to me as a male but has quite the color. can i please get some opinions on gender?

    Female. Only the females get that coloration. Notice all the green and orange. Dead giveaway thats a girl :D

    Thank you for the quick response :) I figured she was but i haven't seen a female that's so territorial without breeding.

    All cons can be mean. Gender doesn't necessarily play a role in it.

    I had a male who acted liked a puppy dog, super sweet and i'd play games with him. Then I also had a female who was more like some junkyard guard dog...vicious! While there are stereotypical behaviors for either species or genders this is of course never an absolute.

    BEAUTIFUL female btw! Makes me wanna get another tank just to get a couple of these guys.
