Male Platey Red Fins

    I know I asked 2 weeks ago, but he just doesn't look right at all, I swear they where identical when we bought them. Platies

    2nd pic is just the load, 5 adult, 5 kids and pretty much 80/100 fry that are to big to eat!

    Also algae eaters, but 2 have vanished :-/

    Are you sure that isn't a male showing breeding colours? I don't know much about platies specifically but I know a lot of fish (and other critters) develop bright colours to attract mates!

    As for your algae eaters they are probably hiding or in rarer cases they may have jumped out.

    The red fin coloration is normal.
