hey guys!!! I was updating my albums when looking at a pic of Iris made me question myself ... maybe "he" is a "she"??? I have had "Iris" since February and he/she hasn't grown much.... Maybe not...maybe he is just a little fellow...

It looks like a male to me. Females don't usually have long fins like that. If it is a girl, though, it would have a white ovipositor (egg tube) that should be visible under the belly behind the pectoral fins. Hope that helps!

this is a male crowntail beta. you can tell by the fins. the males have very bright colors and long fins in the front. the back fins are tasseled indicating that it's a crowntail.

you are right allamericangirl...just recently I questioned myself just because of his size...I had an "early senior moment" not remembering that boys re the ones with the nice long fins!!! Oops!!!

3 gallon tank- Berry(boy)
1/2 a gallon(for right now)-Calli(boy/girl?)
10 gallon- Tiffany, Violet, Queen(all girls)

I hate to disagree but I think it's female.There is such things as a female crowntail.Petco has them.

Female crowntails have shorter fins though. MM is a breeder, and any gender questions are best answered by her, she is a god at this!! Definitely male, one of mine's looks exactly the same fin-wise and he's a male (but a different colour lol!)
