Hey guys, this little one was sold to me as a male, and it seems that that is all that my local stores carry. But since he has not started displaying the orange stripes I've seen on some spectacular males, I'm beginning to think he is a she? Can anyone help please :) [IMG]

I assume we are talking about the powder blue dwarf gourami who is a male and they do not get orange stripes. (The standard dwarf gourami has the orange stripes you described.) Beautiful fish.

that dwarf gourami is indeed a male! it wont get the orange stripes you described because of his color mutation wich is powder blue, as the person before me mentionned. i have a female..
    here she is for comparison:

you can see yours is MUCH more colorfull then her.

Thanks! I was lucky enough to find her in a local pet store. Took her and a male home, they are both flame dwarf gouramis. (Or atleast she shared the tank with them)
