Male Or Female Betta? Egg-burden Female!

Hey, do you think this striped betta is a male or female? I know it's a young one, but I have another young one that clearly has an egg spot. This one was sold to me as female, but I don't see an egg spot and it's getting really aggressive with my other girls.

Also, is this one bloated or egg-burden? And should I do anything for her?

Thanks in advanced!

The first one *looks females, but at that age it could still easily be a male. You’ll have to wait to get a certain ID till it’s older.

The other does seem odd, what and how much are you feeding? Are you keeping her with any males? I’d start with fasting for 3 days and feeding a pea on the third.

The koi was fat when I got her. The only possible male would be the little striped one on here. I feed them a small pinch of pellets distributed in 3 spots so they don't fight over the food (I have a sorority of 5). Maybe 8 or less pellets per spot (my pleco cleans up the leftovers). I feed them once every 3 days, but I catch them nibbling on the Algae waffers too, which lasts a few days ( I feed the Algae waffers every 2 days after I notice it's gone)

I'm leaving the young unknown gendered betta floating in a cup until I can set up another tank tomorrow. But I knoticed they when I put the cup in the water and the others came to see what it was, the little one got vertical stripes. He/she has had the horizontal stripes since I bought it and they haven't gone away. He/she had the horizontal and vertical stripes at the same time. Is that weird? Male or female distinguishable?

From the research I've done, males get horizontal stress lines and females will get vertical stripes for mating. I'm unsure if females can get the horizontal stress lines as well.

Whether or not it's a male or female, if it's showing stress towards other bettas I would leave them separated. Not all females can handle a sorority.

When I had my sorority, my girls would get both horizontal and vertical bars.
To me they both look like males but I can't get a good look at their fins since they moved so much

Well, I know the koi is a girl because she has an egg spot. But she looks quite bloated to me and idk if she's just heavy with eggs or not. I've described my feeding pattern above, but I'm going on day 1 of fasting them

Update: I'm going to put the little striped betta in his/her own 10 gallon tank. I'm quite curious if it's a boy or girl.

Does this mean I need to get another female for my sorority to bring it back up to 5 girls?
