Male Molly bullying female Molly

My male Molly is a bully to my female Molly. I’m so confused as to why. He doesn’t try to breed with her, he just picks on her even though she wants his attention

The primitive aggression is an echo of the more brutal conditions that fish experienced when only the most brutal survived. This makes no sense in your tank, but yet, the fish are wired for it. As fish keepers we must except these humble creatures for what they are. A solution is to add more females to dilute his aggressive effects. He will not hunt anyone to exhaustion if his aggression is spread around.

I would add a bunch of females while removing the one that he chases. Rock his world and change the dynamic. Then reintroduce the female.

You are the fish keeper.

You got this.
