Male Guppy Won't Leave Female Platy Alone. Help!

I have 2 male guppies, 1 male platy, and 1 female platy in a 12 gallon tank. We've had the male platy for a little while now but just got the 2 male guppies and female platy this weekend. Already we've noticed that our blue male guppy will not leave the female platy alone. I've done some research and believe that he's trying to mate with her (chasing her around the tank, nipping at her belly, facing her as she backs up). Would introducing another female guppy help? Or is there another way I can stop the male guppy? I'm just worried he's going to stress out the female platy too much.

I would rehome the female platy, that is the only way as adding more females will just overstock you.

On the flip side, if I do end up getting a much larger tank to house them instead of my small 12 gallon would keeping the platy and adding another female platy or female guppies solve my problem? And how many would I need to offset my aggressive guppy? Thanks for your help!

 

You want a ratio of 2 or 3 females to every male to prevent too much harassment (in my case I have like 15 adult females to my one male, he doesn't seem too bothered at least).
But you would need a grow out tank for the fry produced every month, and a place to sell or homes ready to take them (my feeders males I sell at lps, I have most of my females).

If you got a much larger tank I would have 6 female guppies and 3 female platies though more females would be better
