Male? Female? Plakat? Finrot?

My fish guy and my kids are conspiring, and today I became a proud mum of this little fish. I took one look at her/hI'm and knew. I've wanted this colour for a while, and this one looked especially sad and actually afraid in the cup. I got a really funky little tank for very cheap off my fish guy. I'll get photos tomorrow when he/she has settled in a little. I mega dosed on both prime and stress coat, and put some garlic in. Surprisingly, it ate the little specks of food I dropped in. So I'm hopeful. Anyway, can someone advise me on what sex and type my new mate is?

 

Looks like a crowntail, likely female from the pictures.

 

I thought/hoped she was female and it wasn't a horrendous amount of fin damage. I wondered crown tail too, with the spikes. Thanks mosaic!

Haha, yeah I have kids. Lots of them. I'm always tripping over them. Sigh.

The new girl is doing SO well. She ate on the first day, which looked like a good sign. By the second day she was swimming up whenever I approached. She's a gorgeous little thing. Her colours are getting much deeper and her fins are looking super. Will post pics soon

 

She does look a little stressed as she isn't colored up, but she might just be that way. From the looks of it, I definitely looks like she's a female crowntail.

 

Deffinetly stressed but not much to worry about I wouldnt think. She also seems to have a hunch back, watch it to insure that it doesn't progress with time. A nice little cambodian crown/combtail imo. She seems to have nice doublerays on her tail, can't tell if their on her anal and dorsal.
