I think he means a dwarf gourami, yes I think they would be ok together but I would keep an eye out for agression
Yes, mine usually mind their business around smaller fish and are careful they dont hurt them. BUT feeding time can get aggressive so the smaller fish eat in the back and the gourami eats in the corner. ( Yes i trained them for that)

I have a DG with little feeder endlers. He isn't aggressive to them and ignores them as long as they don't try to eat his pellet or peck him (only really happened when I first added them). He'd chase them off then and go back about his business.
