Male betta turning black?

I got my betta around two months ago and I was just recently looking at old photos. I found that he has changed from white to almost completely black. He's not stressed at all right now, so I'm thinking that when I got him he wasn't actually white, but white from stress and now hes turning to his original color again and I don't think it's marble genes.

Is this normal?

Color change is usually quite normal in bettas. He is absolutely gorgeous!

Yes this happened with mine. If you got him when he was young, I think you would notice it more as he got older/bigger.

Totally normal, and I agree with your assessment. He seems to just be darkening up not changing colors completely. It's amazing how different they can look with proper care!
