I brought male betta 2 months back..And everyday it used 2 make bubble nest. Seeing it making nest, 2 weeks back I bought a female and kept it in separate tank..but
from the day I bought female, male stopped making bubble nest..does some 1 know the reason? temperature has dropped by one degree Celsius. is that the reason?

What is the temperature reading?
I know that bettas will sometimes guild nests, and then they stop for a while and build more later on.
It really depends on what the betta feels like doing, but building a nest does not always indicate happiness, it’s more of a breeding sign.

I wouldn’t worry, mine don’t build nests at all.

My betta does not build nests anymore. He used to, but as he got older he stopped. Like Fanatic mentioned, nest building is not necessarily a sign of happiness. It is a sign of breeding. What is your tank size?

avg temperature in Singapore is 28 degree Celsius
Is the tank heated and filtered? If so, what is the tank temperature?

I’m not saying your betta is old, but I was instead explaining why my betta stopped building nests. Yours may be older than you realize too.

tank does not have heater as room temp is itself 28 degree as per thermometer... and tank does not have filter...but I can change water in every 3 days...tank is 3 gallon

All mine have built nests, my crowntail usually builds the most and is the only one I have actually watched build a nest! But, I never know when they will appear. Most of the time I feel like they spend too much time looking out for me or watching me to build nests

How much water do you change every 3 days? The recommended temperature for a betta is 78-80F (26C?) So your temp may be a little too high if the water actually checks in at 28C.
