Ive had my male Betta Fish for a little over a month now. He is very active, eats normally, overall seems like a happy fish. But recently he has started flaring his gills at me. It’s not often, but it’s happened a few times now that he will do it when I get close. I interact with him a lot, he follows my finger around. Is this odd behavior? Could it be he is doing it at his reflection? Thanks!!

He's probably seeing himself in the glass, it can cause reflections.
