Malaysian Trumpet Snails and Root Tabs

Should I be worried about MTS digging up my root tabs out of my 3"+ sand substrate? I'm using Osmocote DIY root tabs and I've read horror stories pertaining to Nitrates about them when they get dug up out of the substrate to the surface...

 

Ive not seen any big enough to do that.

 

I would just bury them deeper if your worried towards the bottom of the substrate

 

I have several dozen mts in 4 of my tanks. I use seachem root tabs. I've never had a problem with them digging up the tabs.

I've dug up one on occasion when I was doing a wc, but (imho) if the filtration is good and you dose with prime, then there's nothing to worry about.
