Malaysian Trumpet Snail Care

Hi! I got a free Malaysian Trumpet snail, and I was wondering if there is any paticular care that I should give it. Thanks a ton!!

 

Hi! I've found they don't need any special care, but they do benefit from some extra food dropped in an hour or so after light go off. They also need to be able to access the top and get atmospheric air at night. Other than that, it's just basic snail care, and try for a pH above 7.

 

From what I've heard, Malaysian Trumpet snails are so resilient that you have to actively try to kill them if you want them gone, and even then they seem to find a way...
I don't do anything special for them and they've slowly but surely bred up a nice steady population in a lot of my tanks.

 

I've never seen my snails get atmospheric air... so IDK if it's really required....

I see mine do it at like 12-1am, lol, they only come out when it's night, but all of them to up to the top... It's a little scary, cuz I didn't realize how many I had till then

Weird.

Due to one of my MTS farms being on my desk, I tend to stay up late when doing assignments and never found the case! Haha

 

Weird! Lol, snails are just weird, who knows

 

My MTS climb to the top for air at all hours, even during the day. They'll hang out at the waters edge just like all my other snails, then just drop back down to the bottom.
No special care given, they live off of excess food and detritus. I have them in heated and unheated tanks, They're very resilient. Even when I think one has died I'll turn it back over and wait, and before I know it it's moved to a different spot.

My tank is infested with MTS you can't kill them if you tried

 

They breed crazily beware!
