My gf bubbly betta posted about my fish recently. So basically I noticed he had gold powder on him. His top fin was clamped and he was scratching a lot and very lethargic. I added 50% of the recommended dose of malachite green (15 drops in 3.5 gallons) last night. I didnt want to shock him as its a strong medicine. Today he is seeming way better. Not scratching and not lethargic, but obviously the gold is still there.

It says to repeat dosage every 24 hours. I want to make sure, I should be readding the full dose for every 24 hours. Is this correct?

Also he is acting fine with the 50% dose. It should be safe to go to the full dose right?

I change water daily when using meds unless directions say different.
So I would change water [50%] and re dose full strength as per directions .
