Make Your Guess!! Baby Betta!

Sooo I rescued a new baby betta with no information on its backstory... it's name it's Mist, for Mystery! Make your guess on..

And I'll update every once and a while!! I'm secretly hoping for a plakat male..

 

I’m gonna say that is a female, I think I see the egg spot in the second picture. Probably a few months old too since the ventral fins are pretty long.

 

I'm not see the ovaries within the body cavity and the head shape seems like a male, plus the pelvic fins are rather full instead of thin like most young females. So, male delta tail, possibly HM. As for color, not too sure it will match any specific classification. Probably will have a mostly white/metallic light blue body and then red on the fins as it ages.

 

Update! Here's a very clear pic I just took!

 

Ah you can see very clearly the branching of the tail rays. It forks twice so that definitely rules out VT. You can also see a bit of an egg spot but it could be a false one if it is male.

 

My vote is male veiltail betta... hmmm. My baby betta has this clear body too but I can actually see her eggs inside of her. ( Kinda weird but awesome)

 

So I went back to where I adopted him, and got three sisters! (sisters? i'm praying) I think I can see an egg spot on all of them.

none of them have ventral fins, I asked the lady when they were going to separate them, since I thought it was from aggression, turns out the guy who surrendered them breeds bettas for fun, and these were the imperfect ones. why would you do that? and these guys are perfect in my view!

 

ok guys, look at mist! he turned out a guy, and all the predicted females are females!

what tail type do you think he is?

 

Delta? The tail looks a too big to be a plakat. I do see a little bit of folding so maybe he’ll turn out to be a rosetail! Those are my favorites!
