Make A Raised Pond?

HI guys, crazy question as ever.

I have just finished installing my decking and it is looking very bare. I love the look of a rigid free-standing pond with a window and maybe some LED's, and though I don't have the money to buy one of these beauties, I do have some wood left from the decking.

I have had a search on the forum but can't find anyone making a rigid pond, let alone one with a window.
Is it possible? Is it simply a matter of getting a square liner and supporting it using the wood cladding? How would I go about adding a window (possibly the most difficult bit!)


I would love to hear any of your experiences!

What would you plant to put in it? I would assume goldfish?
My best suggestion would be to find something like this: and build your wooden frame around it. I'm not quite sure what you mean about yeah a window though, in the side of the frame?

Yes just some goldfish.
I meant as in having a small panel of glass in the side exterior. After doing a little research I have found it is easy enough to do by just using a regular pond liner sheet and lots of aquarium sealant, and have my heart set on making one a little later in the summer when I have more money and time.

Yep it's possible. I plan on doing it after buying a house. I think the King of DIY fishkeeping has some videos on this.

I personally like raised ponds better than in-ground ponds.
