    HI, Goldwing

Look at "Discus Hans" and "Gwynn Brook Farms" on the East Coast...Good breeders.

Matt has a couple guys on the West in the middle

They will need to be packaged the good...which they do with heat paks in the winter...and get the one day delivery!!

Search on "Discus Sales"..there is at least one good dealer breeder in Ohio...I don't remember his name.

Those are some good ones. Hans of course is very well known, he does mostly wholesale to local LFS, but you can go direct through him. (You'll probably get nicer fish if you go direct through him). Peter at Gwynn Brook has been doing it for years, has some nice stock.

Another on the east coast you might look into is Eric at Carolina Discus. He's a personal friend and I can vouch for his fish and his business. Nice guy and nice discus. Gets a lot of his stock from the lines Kenny gets his from.

My go to guy is on the west coast, but the way he ships, I swear to you, you would think the fish never made a cross country trip overnight in a box. Its simply amazing. I'll stand behind him as long as he is selling discus. His name is Kenny from Kenny's Discus. He doesn't have a constant stock because he imports, but he brings in 1 good sized shipment per month with ALL kinds of strains/colors, sizes, and prices. His customer service is unmatched, never found anyone that cares so much about his fish and his business. His packing is the best i've seen as well. So many good things to say about him. If your package is supposed to be on the doorstep at 10am sharp, Kenny will be calling within 5mins of delivery to make sure they made it ok. I dare you to find a bad review of Kenny, they don't exist.

Mike Beals is in Ohio. He also imports so he doesn't always have stock, but he brings in very nice stock with great bloodlines. Reasonable prices and everyone i've talked to has had good experiences with him and his fish.

Its really all in what you want. Different people specialize in different things. If you are looking for the more classic strains, check out Hans. If you are looking for the new age strains like albinos and the popular asian strains like leopards and leopard snake skins, check out Kenny or Mike. As you can see I push Kenny pretty hard to people. Because I know the fish will exceed expectations. Personal preference really, because all of these listed are good guys to work with.

You can also check out Chris at Windy City Discus, he's in Carpentersville I believe. No idea about his operation or fish.

*Keep in mind, most don't update their websites to often. Its best to contact them directly or through Simply Discus*

Thank you very much for all the help..I'm looking for really good strains. From really good people, I want to get small discus, about 6 or so of each of two or three strains. I do like the classic's but also like snake skins. all for a 125gl im setting up after the holidays:;dete

Sounds good. If you have any questions about any dealers, or even discus, let me know. The discus world is quite small in the US so everyone knows everyone.

Just bagged well, put in a styrofoam cooler that's in a cardboard box with heatpacks and it's good to ship overnight.

Hi all. I purchased 2 discus in November and placed them in a 29. I observed that one was bullying the other. So I netted the aggessor and put him in another 29 that contains a single discus with plants and corys. Now the agressor is is getting bullied . Is this behavior typical ? Should I ad both of them into my 55 that contains 2 other discus that are friendly?

It is normal. They are indeed cichlids. As long as its not to the point of stressing the other fish out so much its black and hiding it should be fine, they work it out. A larger group would be preferred though.
