Lyertail Guppy From Non-lyertail Parents?

    Is it possible to get a few lyertail guppies from 1 of my guppies that had babies and both male and female aren't lyertails?

    I would say no. they have to have the lyertail gene

    I don't know if the trait is recessive or dominant. If it's recessive then yes. If dominant no.

    That's the male and the female looked like this

    And that's 1 of fry and his tail only started doing that when he started getting his colors and it's definitely not fin nipping cause there's only 2 of them
