Lump On Betta? Please Help.

Long story short, I moved my Betta to a one gallon hospital tank after doing a full course of Cupramine for velvet because he developed fin rot and cloudy eyes. I had noticed a small lump, which I though was a cyst, on his tail - it was the same color as his tail.

After moving him to a one-gallon hospital tank to treat the cloudy eyes and fin rot with aquarium salt and stress coat, the lump started turning brown. The cloudy eyes are gone and the fin rot is a work in progress. He is eating and swimming but sleeps slightly more than usual. He will be 4 in October. I do 50% water changes morning and night every day. Ammonia is between 0-0.25 ppm (spike happens overnight; not sure what else to do there) and it’s heated ~78’ +/- 2’.

He has a small sponge filter and java fern (he likes to play with the fern and sleep on the sponge) in the hospital tank. I did put in some pebble substrate because he likes to move the rocks around. He normally lives in a planted ten gallon, which I replanted last week and have started a fishless cycle in with Dr. Tim’s - ammonia spike and nitrites have started; no nitrates yet, so I can’t move him back in just yet.

Any idea as to what this lump is and if there are other things I need to do to get him better?

I do have other meds on hand; I just don’t know what this is...

Hey. Let’s see if we can get some eyes on your finbaby. Rtessy Skye_marilyn can you see this lump? Please?

Gypsy13 It looks, well, I guess the best description would be a medium brown mole slightly smaller than the size of the eye located in the space between two rays of the tail fin.
OP, sorry I don't know what this is, but I wish you the best of luck, he's a beautiful betta

Can you use a cotton swab soaked in hydrogen peroxide on this spot?

I could but I whatever it was fell off. I’m inclined to think it was a small cyst that ruptured now. The spot where it was is flat but slightly lighter in color. Hopefully it’s gone for good, but if it comes back, I’ll try the hydrogen peroxide. Thanks for the tip

No problem. That’s what I was wondering. If it was something that would come off. Good things happen.
