Lta Lighting

I've been reading a lot of conflicting info on the lighting requirements for LTA. I was hoping somebody could tell me about their experiences with keeping them under LEDs. It would be going into my 75 gallon which currently has a 36in Current Orbit IC LED and 48in Current Marine LED. I've had no issues with my coral in the 6 months since adding the new LEDs, my minI maxI is growing faster than ever, and my BTA was doing great. Unfortunately my wife removed it after it moved on us while we were away and killed her fox coral along with half a colony of zoas. I've been watching this particular LTA in my LFS for a few weeks now and it seems to be doing well under the AI 26s they have setup but I know they're in a completely different ballpark than my Currents.

I would say with two current marines and one of them being an IC, you should have plenty of light. If you've been watching it at your LFS and it seems fine, and you had a BTA that was doing great, you should be perfectly fine getting a LTA. Just remeber they get really big. Do you have a nice deep sandbed for it?

After hours of research and considering my experience with the lights so far I decided to give it a shot. If it doesn't work out then I've got someone willing to take it. At the moment the sandbed is about 2.5-3 inches deep but that's an easy fix. The lta is still small, only about 3in across. I placed it about 16in from the light and so far it seems to be doing well after four days. Stayed right where I put it and immediately planted it's foot and it's eating quite well. Even colored up a bit more than it was at the lfs.
