So I had my girlfriend search up a Lowes product MSDS for coal slag and finally got a look at it tonight. http://www.lowes.com/pd/Ash-Grove-Media-Blaster-Abrasive/3024116 It apparently references back to a Black Beauty MSDS similar to below: http://www.blackbeautyabrasives.com/admin/resources/cph-msds-na-black-beautyr-.pdf Only differences I can see are minor composition percentages and that the one I'm looking at has an older issue date of 2007. Would this be safe substrate in general? I'd have to have it special ordered but you can't beat an employee discount if it works out.
If it's very similar composition to black diamond then I'd say probably. It will all come down to the grit size. I'd give it a shot.
Thanks, going to go ahead and try it out. From what I saw they have a fine grade which comes out to a 2-3.75 Mil sizing and a medium grade of 3.5-5.0 so I'm going to see how the fine grade works out.
